“I loved the original film, the Zinnemann film,” says star Eddie Redmayne Terms and Conditions. “It was my father’s favorite film; We had three battered VHS tapes and Day of the Jackal was one of them. We would watch it again and again. When the scripts came in for it, I was very worried from my standpoint because you don’t want to butcher something that you love, but when I read the scripts… Because it was set now, it felt like something completely different. completely different, but it retained a lot of those qualities, that kind of analog, old-fashioned spy satisfaction that I loved about the original. And when I read the scripts, I just couldn’t put them down. I found it so exhilarating that I thought this was something I wanted to be a part of.”
