Sakamoto Days unveils opening video with Vaundy theme song

SAKAMOTO DAYS unveiled the opening video featuring the opening theme song “RUN SAKAMOTO RUN” by Vaundy. The single’s cover art was revealed last month and the track is said to preview the show’s premiere on January 11th. Netflix will stream it worldwide, with two separate courses confirmed. The second will premiere in July.

Studio TMS Entertainment is responsible for the animation. The main team includes Masaki Watanabe as director, Yo Moriyama as character designer, Yuto Suzuki in charge of the script and Taku Kishimoto in charge of series composition. The main voice cast consists of:

SAKAMOTO DAYS is a Japanese manga by Yuto Suzuki. It was published in Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine since 2020, with 20 volumes, published on January 4, 2024. VIZ Media has licensed the Manga in English. The franchise also announced the release of its first game in spring 2025. It is a smartphone game titled SAKAMOTO DAYS: Dangerous mystery.

The story follows Taro Sakamoto, a once-legendary killer who retired to get married and have a child. Now he runs a business, but his previous life doesn’t allow him to easily settle down. Although Sakamoto has acquired a different appearance, he will not shy away from protecting his family and hunting down anyone who tries to put them in danger.
