Firefighters respond to brush fire north of Santa Clarita

A brush fire broke out north of Santa Clarita on Tuesday afternoon.

The brush fire, dubbed the Gulch Fire, was reported around 3:44 p.m. Tuesday near San Francisquito Canyon Road and Dry Gulch Mountainway, according to initial radio reports from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Update (4:19 p.m.)

According to the Angeles National Forest, the Gulch Fire has been contained to one acre in size.

According to LACoFD radio traffic, the light fuel fire was approximately 1/4 acre in size and was experiencing winds of 10 to 15 mph.

No injuries were reported as of 4:01 p.m. Tuesday.
