Day three at the WTA Adelaide International will offer plenty of exciting action, with some top 10 players on court, including current US Open finalist Jessica Pegula. As always, we here at LWOT will be making our predictions for every game on the schedule, including Jelena Ostapenko vs. Madison Keys, but who will make it to the final eight?

WTA Adelaide Day 3 Predictions

Ashlyn Krueger vs. Paula Badosa

Head-to-head: Badosa 1-0 Krueger

Paula Badosa had a very nice comeback season in 2024 and will look to build on it further this year. The former world No. 2 hasn’t played great tennis so far in 2025, but her tough comeback win against Peyton Stearns in her first match here could give her the confidence she needs to hit the ground running here. Ashlyn Krueger definitely has the same thing to make it difficult, but Badosa should prevail.

Marketa Vondrousova vs. Diana Shnaider

Head-to-head: first meeting

Diana Shnaider is one of the fastest-rising young players on the tour and should reach the top 10 soon. While Marketa Vondrousova is the more accomplished player overall – and keep in mind that she is a Grand Slam winner – Shnaider seems to be the better player at the moment and should have a slight edge here, even if it is a fairly close match , which is decided small details.

Prediction: Shnaider in 3

Emerson Jones vs. Daria Kasatkina

Head-to-head: first meeting

16-year-old Emerson Jones was extremely impressive in her first round here, but facing a top 10 player in Kasatkina is a big step up in the quality of the opponent. While she clearly has the talent to be a serious contender in the future and will enjoy the support of the home crowd here on home soil at the WTA Adelaide International, Kasatkina should and should have too much quality and experience at this point in their respective careers This will also prevail in the end.

Jessica Pegula vs. Maria Sakkari

Head-to-head: Pegula 5-5 Sakkari

The direct duel with all ten games from the last three years shows how balanced these two players are – regardless of the fact that Jessica Pegula is currently ranked higher. Both have been at the top of the game for some time, although struggling at Slam level where both are still looking for a first major triumph, and this match looks set to be an extremely high quality and close contest. Ultimately, however, Pegula’s improved recent form and greater confidence should make the difference.

Prediction: Pegula in 3
