“Regis Jesuit scores highest of the season against Overland”

Winning is always nice, but doing so off a season high is even better (just ask Regis Jesuit). On Wednesday they defeated the Overland Trailblazers by a score of 80-67. Given the Raiders’ advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado basketball rankings (they’re seventh while the Trailblazers are 97th), the result wasn’t entirely unexpected.

Regis Jesuit earned its victory thanks to several key players, but leading the way was Eric Fiedler, who posted a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds. This marks the fourth time in a row that Fiedler has scored at least a third of Regis Jesuit’s points. Lucas Dickinson was another key player, posting a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Regis Jesuit worked as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That’s the most assists they’ve managed all season.

Despite the loss, Overland still got an impressive performance from Siraaj Ali, who posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists. The matchup was Ali’s third in a row with at least ten points. The team also received help from Demetrius Lambert, who made 5 of 7 en route to 13 points.

The win (which was Regis Jesuit’s fourth in a row) increased their record to 8-2. The victories were due to their offensive performance over that span, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for Overland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them to 2-7.

Regis Jesuit will face Mullen on Saturday at 3 p.m. Overland will face ThunderRidge on Friday at 7 p.m. Overland has been dominant on offense lately, putting up an incredible 208 points in the last three games.
