Kirk Herbstreit frequently posts on X and claims he is never on the platform

Kirk Herbstreit never goes to X. At least that’s what he said earlier this week.

On an episode of On3’s “Andy & Ari” on Tuesday, ESPN’s top SEC advocate claims that when we see posts on the account that bear his name, it is not actually him posting the content. Instead, one of his sons is reportedly taking over all engagement on the platform.

“I don’t have it. My son tweets stuff… I don’t read anything. “I don’t see anything,” claimed Herbstreit.

I don’t believe that for a second, at least not to the extent that Herbstreit wants us to believe. He’s really naive enough to think that we believe he won’t go to X – at all?

Theoretically, it doesn’t hold water. Herbstreit is a media professional, and that often means having a strong online presence on a social media platform. No person in their right mind would leave the running of this account to their son, no matter how trustworthy he is.

Furthermore, from a practical point of view, saying that he doesn’t have an account doesn’t make any sense either. On Friday morning, we saw a post from Herbstreit’s account that showed his famous golden retriever, Peter, playing in the snow before Herbstreit Cotton bowl in Arlington, TX between Texas and Ohio State.

Based on what Herbstreit claimed earlier this week, that means he either lets his son travel with him during his grueling work schedule or he records videos and has his son post them. The first option would be crazy and the second, while plausible, is unlikely.

I already knew that Herbstreit was pumped about being such a staunch SEC supporter and bashing the fan base on his alma mater. This “I’m not going to X” saga further supports my opinion.
