Melissa Roxburgh leads “The Hunting Party” in the new trailer for NBC’s high-concept procedural

Government agencies are always privy to some secrets that the public may never know about. They succeed because the secrets are well kept, but what happens when something goes wrong and those secrets come to light? Worse still, what if these secrets had real-world consequences? A small team is formed after violent criminals escape from a top-secret underground prison and begin wreaking havoc on the public. In addition to the series’ official logline below, NBC also released a full trailer for the series, which premieres on February 3rd.

“The Hunting Party” uncovers several mysteries in the trailer for the first season

The show’s teaser gave a taste of the main idea by introducing The Pit, a secret prison where the government holds the worst of the worst. An accident damages the integrity of the prison and the criminals housed inside escape, while some die in the explosion. The trailer above further expands on the series’ plot, revealing that the prison may have been secretly used to experiment on its inmates. Since some of them are presumed dead, it’s no surprise that prison staff got away scot-free for so long.

Roxburgh plays Rebecca, who is accepted into a team tasked with finding these refugees. In these cases there is urgency because the criminals have returned to civil society and resumed their ways. As if the secrets weren’t enough, Rebecca learns that the explosion wasn’t an accident and that someone wanted the perpetrators out there. The question, among many others, is: who and why? The team embarks on the momentous task of apprehending the refugees who have scattered to different corners of the country and have already started killing their next victims. Worse, some have escalated their methods. What happened to them in The Pit?

Roxburgh leads the cast as Rebecca Henderson. Other actors are: Nick Wechsler (Oliver Dell), Patrick Sabongui (Jacob Hassani), Josh McKenzieAnd Sarah Garcia (Jennifer Morales).

The hunting party Premieres Monday, February 3, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET. Until then, Roxburgh’s previous series, manifestis streaming on Netflix.
