Regrettable Trends (Hour 2)

Welcome back to the second hour of this Wednesday morning with WFHR! Melissa and James are back to discuss how honored people are to be nominated. They then discuss some great Wisconsin authors and an upcoming Teen Theater performance at McMillan Memorial Library.

Then they come back from break to discuss food prices and how studies show people are making it. They focused on things like clothing, makeup and electronics being purchased less often.

The duo then begins a discussion about unfortunate trends that people have participated in. Social media and the over-representation of the lives of people, children and families were at the center of the conversation. They also discussed trends toward devaluing certain professions and crafts in favor of Tik Tok and social media influencers instead of experts. It also discusses facial tattoos, hair style regrets and more.

They then open the final section with good news, then promote World Central Kitchen’s work in California and other humanitarian efforts to help those who have lost the most in these unseasonably extreme fires. Melissa directed listeners to the donation link on the Civic Media website if they would like to send help in person. It concludes with local events and program updates.
