Heidi Montag’s ‘Superficial’ Goes Viral, Helps Palisades Fire Recovery

Reality star Heidi Montag can now add pop stardom to her resume. Montag and husband Spencer Pratt, known for their roles on the hit reality television show the hills, lost their home in the Palisades wildfire last week. Pratt took to TikTok to share the devastating news and urge viewers to stream and purchase Monday’s 15-year-old album Superficial to help the family earn an income after the disaster.

Although “Breakin’ Dishes” – like most of RiRi’s catalog – is not available as an official sound on TikTok, fan uploads kept the song in near-constant circulation on the platform. In three different sounds, each with 40,000 to 280,000 posts, users jumped on three different trends related to “dishes.” First, some users use the song “A man, a man, a ma-eaa-an“Avoid flaunting your friend’s strength by lifting him on one shoulder. Another group of users have used the song to make edits of their favorite characters from media like… Squid game and various Disney films; Other users have used “Dishes” sounds to explain that the song is about “female anger” and not love.
