The Rockets are enjoying the feud between Denver’s Jalen Green and Russell Westbrook

During his high school years, Jalen Green guarded the Houston Rockets played on the AAU team Russell Westbrook, guard for the Denver Nuggets.

The 36-year-old Westbrook is a nine-time NBA All-Star and former Most Valuable Player (MVP) and is 14 years older than the 22-year-old Green.

But despite that age difference and Westbrook’s legendary status, that didn’t stop Green from being a little upset when Westbrook fouled him on a transfer dunk on Wednesday. Green wasn’t injured, but he seemed to take at least some exception to the game, which came in the second half of a stunning Houston win.

Within seconds, however, Westbrook placed his hand on Green’s chest and both players appeared to laugh. Shortly afterwards, Westbrook even made Ime Udoka laugh. As captured by television microphones, Westbrook said to Houston’s bench (by Green):

He used to play on my AAU team. Talk to me like I’m a little ass kid.

“We all know him, so he talked to everyone,” Udoka said after the game. “We played with him, Jeff (Green) played with him, Steven (Adams) played with him. We’ve been training against him for years. I think Jalen complained about the foul and (Westbrook) said he played on his AAU team.”
