The Monkey’s ‘Crazy’ Blood-Filled Trailer Is Terrifying Horror Movie Fans

“The Monkey,” based on a story by horror author Stephen King, is so wild that even film fans with stomachs of steel are calling the upcoming flick “bizarre and crazy.”

The Monkey trailer left horror fans speechless.

The trailer for the new film, adapted from one of legendary horror author Stephen King’s short stories, was released recently and moviegoers are both excited and horrified by the “insane” bloody scenes and spooky plot.

King’s spooky film adaptations like Gerald’s Game (2017) continue to shock and frighten fans, but they keep coming back for more. Some fans or pranksters were so dedicated that they showed up to the premiere of IT as the “killer” clowns from the film.

But now it’s all about the monkey. “When twin brothers find a mysterious clockwork monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tears their family apart. “25 years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree, forcing the estranged brothers to confront the cursed toy,” reads the film’s description.

Terrified fans immediately rushed to the comments section of the YouTube trailer to share their thoughts on the upcoming horror film. One person wrote: “This is one of Stephen King’s most bizarre stories. I’m glad to see it’s been adapted after so many years.”

“This film looks absolutely crazy. I’ll definitely see it,” raved one amazed fan, while another simply wrote: “One of the craziest Stephen King stories. I’m glad it was adapted after so many years.”

Someone else chimed in and said they hoped to see “more Stephen King stories adapted,” while a second person praised the “great cinematography and use of lighting.”

“Every horror movie this man makes is an absolute masterpiece,” sang another horror fan. A final compliment was, “This looks SO good. The cast and makers are COMPLETE. I can barely wait for it.”

“The Monkey,” starring Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood and Rohan Campbell, is rated R and is scheduled to hit theaters in February 2025. The R rating is required for films with “strong bloody violent content, gore, language throughout, and sexual references.” “

In the trailer’s caption, Neon wrote, “Based on the short story by Stephen King and produced by James Wan (The Conjuring, Saw), The Monkey is a new outing from Longlegs writer/director Osgood Perkins.”
