Australian Open 2025: Follow Lys vs Swiatek, Michelsen vs De Minaur – live | Australian Open 2025

Important events

By the way, Eva Lys. She was sitting on the physio couch after being beaten by our old friend Destanee Aiava in the final qualifying round, and then got the news that Anna Kalinskaya had withdrawn and she would be on court in 10 minutes. Three wins later, here we are: she plays a night session against the number 2 team Laver and gets the first point of the game on her return.

Kasatkina breaks Navarro in the first game of the second set then fights back from 0-30 to secure their consolidation. This is a really good competition.

On Laver, Lys and Swiatek are outside.

In the meantime in court, Gael Monfils, now 38, is serving against Ben Shelton 1-1, 3-4, but has injured a leg and cannot move freely. He manages to stay there quite well and holds 4-4, but I’m not sure he can win from this position.

On Cain, Navarro took an early lead, but Kasatkina fought back and is now 4-5 on the first serve and, as I write, at 0-40; Kasatkina then flutters for a long time and the American plays a turbulent, 41-minute first set 6:4.

preamble

Good day one and welcome everyone to the Australian Open 2025 – Day Nine, Evening Session!

On Monday morning it is just as foggy and damp – at least in north London – but there is rich light coming from Melbourne Park. It starts with Eva Lys vs. Iga Swiatek, continues with Alex Michelsen vs. Alex de Minaur and also includes Gael Monfils vs. Ben Shelton and Daria Kasatkina vs. Emma Navarro.

Let’s go!
