The developer of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 may ban people from the forum for discussing politics

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is just weeks away from its full launch. One of the most anticipated new RPGs of the year, it marks the return of Warhorse Studio’s popular medieval adventure, following Henry in the 15th century as he embarks on a new series of adventures in emerging Europe. Ahead of release, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s creators have released a new code of conduct for users of the game’s Steam community pages, stating that discussions of religion, politics and other potentially controversial topics may result in banning from the forums.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s release date is almost here, and based on our experience with the RPG so far, it looks to be something different than the “confident” medieval game some players might be expecting. According to the Valve Store page, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is one of the most frequently wishlisted games on Steam and has a PEGI rating of 18 for violence, foul language and drug depictions. The new Code of Conduct, published by Warhorse representative “PLAION_MY4NH,” sets out a number of rules for discussions on the Steam forums.

“We are grateful for the lively and passionate discussions taking place here,” the representative wrote. “Their love for this game and its immersive world has created a unique and thriving community. To ensure our forums remain a welcoming place for everyone, we are introducing a set of new community rules designed to ensure smooth moderation and promote meaningful, respectful discussions.

“We get it – this is a PEGI 18 game and colorful language is part of the atmosphere. Occasional swearing is fine, but remain sensible. Excessive profanity, bigotry, sexism, racism, hate speech, sexual harassment or threats will not be tolerated.”

The code of conduct urges users to “respect others” and states that forum moderators have “zero tolerance for discrimination.” It also states that the forum is “not the place for modern political or religious discussions” and that there should be “no hate speech or harmful ideologies.” Warhorse also outlines possible penalties for users who do not adhere to its code of conduct.

“While our game may cover historical themes, this forum is not the place for modern political or religious discussions,” says the developer. “Discrimination in any form is strictly prohibited. We oppose all forms of hate speech and dangerous ideologies. This is a community for gaming, not for political grandstanding or modern ideological debates. Civil disagreements are welcome, but respect must always prevail. If conversations result in personal attacks or hostility, they will be moderated accordingly.”

Warhorse says consequences for violations include “deleting thread posts, banning threads, issuing warnings, and (and) temporarily or permanently banning users from the forum.”
