The snow will increase and become significantly colder by midweek

Light snow and snow showers tapering off from west to east by 5 a.m. Be careful, it’s slippery out there!

The BIG story of the coming week is the bitterly cold air that will be with us for most of this week. Highs will only be in the teens to near 20 degrees, while lows will drop to zero overnight, or even below zero in some places! And with the chilly wind, it will feel like it’s below zero and in the single digits most of the week!

This morning: Smooth conditions. Snow decreases from west to east by 5 a.m. Teenage lows.

MLK Jr. Day: Slick early! Sun to afternoon clouds, possible snow squalls late in the day, windy and very cold. Maximum temperatures 20-25 degrees.

Tonight: In the evening there will be a snow squall or snow shower, then it will clear up and it will be very cold. Lows 4-12.

Morning: Partly sunny and bitterly cold. Highs in the teens, wind chill in the single digits and temperatures below zero. Overnight lows near ZERO!

Wednesday: Sun to clouds with highs in the teens to around 20 degrees. Mostly single-digit wind chill during the day.

Thursday: Clouds with a system offshore and still cold! Highs will be in the mid to low to mid 20s.

Friday: Partly sunny and not so cold. Highs will be in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Saturday: Partly to mostly sunny. Temperatures in the low to mid 30s.

Sunday: It will be cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 30s.

Monday: Snow and rain possible. Highs in the 30s.
