Meghan Markle donated supplies to Altadena teen girls amid LA fires

Meghan Markle continues her volunteer work in her hometown of Los Angeles amid the ongoing wildfires. After donating essential supplies and serving meals with World Central Kitchen in Pasadena alongside her husband, Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex was at it again last week – this time supporting teenage girls particularly affected by the Eaton fire .

Working with new charity Altadena Teen Girls Fire Recovery Group, Markle arrived at the volunteer site with new clothing and beauty products to donate, as well as a lunch for volunteers – like this People. She also chatted with families and helped the girls shop.

The Altadena Teen Girls Fire Recovery Group was started by 14-year-old Avery Colvert to “help young girls regain their confidence and self-confidence after the fires.” On Wednesday, the group shared an Instagram Reel that showed footage of Markle’s low-key volunteer visit.

The Duchess wore a black T-shirt, leggings and sneakers, a beige sweater around her shoulders, a black “LA” baseball cap and two large tote bags full of supplies. The group also announced that Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Foundation financially supported their mission and offered them a “special thank you.”

“We’re official! We can now accept donations directly to our organization and ensure that all of these funds go DIRECTLY to the community where they are needed! “So many of you have set up your own Venmos and the like to raise money for us and we are so grateful,” the message read, adding, “Special thanks to the Archewell Foundation for your support!”

In addition to doing what she can to help, Markle has also postponed the launch of her new Netflix show. With love, Meghanto “focus on the needs of those affected by the wildfires” in her home state of California. The series will now debut in March.
