Houthis were redesignated as a terrorist group following Trump’s executive order

President Trump redesignated the Houthis as a terrorist group on Wednesday, according to the White House.

In an executive order signed Wednesday, Trump said the terrorist group “threatens the safety of American civilians and personnel in the Middle East, the security of our closest regional partners, and the stability of global maritime commerce.”

“With support from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force (IRGC-QF), which arms and trains terrorist organizations worldwide, the Houthis have fired on U.S. Navy warships dozens of times since 2023, endangering American men and women in uniform.” , the command says.
