Meet the Sutton pizza takeaway owner who will star in BBC series The Apprentice

A pizza shop owner from Sutton will be competing on the upcoming season of The Apprentice.

Anisa Khan, owner of Bombay Pizza in Wallington, will be one of 18 contestants vying for Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment in the BBC show, led by business tycoon Lord Alan Sugar and his advisers Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell MBE.

The BBC describes Anisa as a “self-proclaimed go-getter” and England kabaddi international who has made a name for herself in the pizza industry with her Indian-Italian fusion flavours.

Anisa told the BBC: “I have built a highly valued Indian-Italian fusion pizza business from the ground up.”

“I managed everything from menu creation to operations and marketing.

“My signature pizzas, like the Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza, have received excellent feedback, demonstrating strong demand for bold and creative flavors.”

She plans to expand her pizza business by opening more dark kitchens in high-demand areas.

“This will allow me to strategically grow the business, introduce our innovative menu to more customers and work towards establishing a nationally recognized brand,” Anisa added.

Bombay Pizza offers a variety of flavors including Tandoori Pizza, Aloo Gobi, Vegan Bombay Brinjal and Spicy Margherita.

The menu also features Indian-inspired sides such as Tandoori Wings, Masala Fries and Onion Bhajis.

Anisa wants to prove that she is a “strong businesswoman” with “sharp acumen” who is able to scale a business and overcome any challenge – be it in the kitchen or in the boardroom.

She told the BBC: “I’m ready to tackle any task head on and show that I have what it takes to succeed.”

“I am motivated, ambitious and determined to follow my own path.

“My company is now small, but has huge potential and a unique concept that has already proven itself attractive.

“With Lord Sugar’s support, I can turn this into a leading brand and deliver exceptional results.”

The Apprentice starts on BBC One from Thursday January 30th at 9pm.
