Jazz vs. Grizzlies prediction, tips and odds for today’s NBA game

The Utah Jazz are in the midst of a four-game losing streak and face a tough opponent tonight: the Memphis Grizzlies, who are looking to extend their win streak to six.

My analysis
The Utah Jazz suffered their fourth straight loss on Wednesday with a 123-114 loss to the Thunder highlighted by a 54-point outburst from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but Walker Kessler quietly turned in another solid performance for his team.

The center posted a game-high 17 points and 15 rebounds, continuing a strong January in which he averaged 13.7 points and 12.8 boards per game.

Kessler has seen a slight increase in his shooting frequency this month, as he is averaging 7.7 field goal attempts per game compared to just 6.3 in December, but he has also been exceptionally efficient from the field, converting 76.8% of his shots.

The 7-footer has been even more dominant on the glass, scoring more than 13 points in four of his last five games and six of his last eight games. His points and rebounds alone could put him at more than 24 tonight.

But on top of that, Kessler has recorded multiple assists in 10 of his last 19 games, including a season-high five dimes back on New Year’s Day against the New York Knicks.

The Memphis Grizzlies have plenty of offensive weapons to choose from, but Desmond Bane has been arguably the most consistent down the stretch. The shooting guard has dropped 20-plus points in seven straight games and 11 of his last 12 and should be a safe bet to reach the mark against a Jazz team that doesn’t play much defense.

The Jazz and Grizzlies both rank in the bottom eight in points conceded per game, while Memphis leads the NBA with 123.6 points per game. The over is also 5-0 in Utah’s last five games and 6-1 in Memphis’ last seven games.
