Buckle up! A temperature rollercoaster Thanksgiving week

FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS

  • MONDAY: heights in the low 80s, cold front arrives late afternoon

  • MID-WEEK: Cooler Tuesday, warm again Wednesday

  • THANKSGIVING: The second front arrives early this morning, will be windy, with highs in the 60s

  • BLACK FRIDAY: Cooler than average, highs in the low 60s

FORECAST

More humidity will continue to move in overnight, leading to an unseasonably warm Monday morning with lows near 60 degrees in San Antonio. A few morning clouds will bring afternoon sunshine as temperatures climb back into the low 80s.

The first of several cold fronts in the extended forecast arrives Monday afternoon. Expect temperatures to fall into the upper 60s by dinner time, followed by temperatures in the upper 50s Monday evening. Winds will continue to increase after the front passes, remaining at 10 to 15 mph from the north, with gusts up to 25 mph during the overnight hours.

After rising into the lower 80s, a cold front moves in Monday afternoon.

Tuesday will be noticeably cooler, with morning lows in the upper 40s transitioning to highs in the upper 60s. Things will warm up quickly on Wednesday, with highs approaching 80° before another cold front arrives on Thanksgiving morning.

The temperatures will be cooler, but pleasant for vacation. Expect highs in the upper 60s/near 70s, but be aware that winds will also be gusty. Across Texas, expect cool weather to the north and warmer weather farther south in the Rio Grande Valley.

On Thanksgiving it will be cooler in the north and slightly warmer further south near the Rio Grande Valley.

Morning temperatures then drop to below-average 40 degrees in the final days of November and reach highs of 60 degrees in the afternoon. Be sure to pack well if you head out early to score Black Friday deals! Unfortunately, there is no greater chance of rain during this period.
