In less than two weeks, the watch ticks quickly until the Super Bowl Sunday.

The last time New Orleans organized the game, there was a power failure after half -time.

Is ENGY ready to ensure that it doesn’t happen again?

“Absolutely,” said Elizabeth Adams, Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at ENTERGY. “Bring the pressure with you – we are ready for it. We are ready and are so excited about it.”

According to Adams, large investments and improvements were made in the city’s network and in the superdome.

“The superdome is operated by the three substances. We have resistance and redundancy in the power of the superdome, ”said Adams. “For the big game and the weekend we will have additional resources – security, linemen – all over the city.”

How much strength will it take to supply the Super Bowl with electricity?

Adams said it takes about 12 megawatts.

To bring this into the context, Adams said that it is what it takes to supply 7,000 houses.

For one of Taylor Swift’s shows in New Orleans, says Adams, there were about 12 megawatts.

The dome also completed the examination of a Beyonce concert in 2023. Adams said it needed 17 megawatts.

That is about 5 megawatts less than what is expected for the Super Bowl.

WDSU asked whether areas in the city would be fine when it comes to the power supply for the game.

“Absolutely,” said Adams. “It is a special thing to present it on millions of spectators on a platform of this size.”

According to Energy, the relay equipment equipment was removed in 2013. It is no longer used in the electrical devices of the dome.
