When Barcelona and Deportivo Alaves met at the beginning of this season, Robert Lewandowski scored a sensational hat trick to seal the match within 45 minutes.

Since then, the opponent’s season has not gone so well that they are now sitting in 17th place, just one point before Espanyol on the ranking.

In the meantime, Barcelona is in a world of pain in La Liga after dropping their leadership and now finding seven points behind Real Madrid.

Inigo’s return

Barcelona’s flying start into life under Hansi Flick was largely due to two factors, the perfect implementation of the high-printing structure and the exact offside trap.

The defensive duo of the Pau Comatarsi and Inigo Martinez team fit stylistically in a glove and did not allow the team to feel the lack of Ronald Araujo or Andreas Christensen for almost six months.

Araujo’s return from the injury associated with Martinez ‘fitness strike, however, saw that the Uruguayan gave a series of games under the flick. While the central defender was decent, it is clear that he couldn’t get Martinez ‘Levels close.

After all, the Basque star not only operated with his defensive contributions, but also with his maintenance of the offside trap like a guide.

His serenity, decision -making and distribution were sensational and it is clear that Araujo did not do entirely enough to justify the replacement of Martinez, which was one of the best in the world this season.

Back from his injury and tomorrow, it is clear that the veteran star justifies his place in the starting line -up. Not for a guilt of Araujos, but for his own quality.

Time for a tactical turn?

Barcelona’s striker trio was in great form all season, and Raphinha and Lamine Yamal condemned the gates in advance.

In the past few months, however, the Polish striker has seen a slump in its form and is no longer as clinical in front of the goal as in the first few months of the season.

Lewandowski started a few opportunities on the bench this season, primarily to rest at his age. However, it is probably time for Barcelona to start for tactical reasons in view of its low performance.

In the three times, the pole started in the last games on the bench, the team won from healthy margins and it is therefore clear that its presence on the field is not a must.

Tomorrow Flick could try to start the veteran on the bench and change his tactics. Since Dani Olmo is not available to play as the wrong nine, he was able to use Ferran Torres as number nine.

The last time Barcelona tried a similar maneuver, they defeated Valencia with a 7: 1 goal line and were able to do the tomorrow evening.

Szczesny has to show his class

Hansi Flick confirmed that Wojciech Szczesny was again his preferred goalkeeper in front of Barcelona’s collision against Deportivo Alaves, and it is clear that the Polish goalkeeper did enough to stay in the coach’s good books.

His promotion time began in the Spanish Super Cup at the beginning of this year and since then he has completely looked back in the starting line -up.

However, it is clear that Szczesny’s place as the team is anything but clear as the team’s Numero Uno goalkeeper, especially in view of his moments of concentration that seem to hit the game after the game.

Szczesny has already been sent this season, unnecessary duels made in the penalty area, made bad decisions that came out of his box, and looked very shaky.

While his shooting stopper cannot be doubted, his ability to the ball has always remained a question and made him a weak link.

So it is time for him to improve and show that he can be in possession more reliably and put it together for 90 minutes without making any mistakes. After all, Inaki Pena is not too far back in the chopping order.
