Deandre Ayton is expanding an impressive run and helps Fuel Trail Blazers’ recent success

The Portland Trail Blazers Center Deandre Ayton had the so -called revenge game against his former team on Saturday evening, many athletes dream of.

Ayton scored 24 points in a 127-108 goal of the Phoenix Suns in the Moda Center in a 127-108 goal.

But after the game, Ayton played down the importance of his performance against the team, which exchanged him before the 2023-24 season.

“I’m not really interested,” said Ayton.

Maybe the suns do it. At the moment you could use a player like Ayton. The Blazer dominated the sun and scored 66 points in color, while Phoenix made 32.

The Blazer sent the Center Jusuf Nurkic in the deal for Ayton, who was also able to use Toumani Camara, another player Phoenix.

But while Camara scored 18 points with 10 rebounds and Ayton was “Dominayton”, Nurkic did not play after he was wiped out of the rotation weeks ago after a solid season with his suns.

Phoenix gave Ayton, number 1 in the 2018 NBA design, due to its lack of consistency, attention to detail and intensity. Ayton also followed these problems with the Blazers last season, and he did not do justice to his 34 million dollar this season.

On the way there were many solid performances against the suns when he played. He missed three of the first six meetings:

November 21, 2023 at Phoenix: In his first meeting against his former team, Ayton scored 18 points with 13 rebounds. He shot 9 out of 14 with a loss of 120-107.

December 19, 2023 in Portland: Ayton went 6 out of 18 from the field for 16 points with 15 rebounds with a 109-104 blazer victory.

January 1, 2024 in Phoenix: Did not play with a loss of 109-88.

January 14, 2024 in Portland: Did not play with a loss of 127-116.

November 2, 2024 at Phoenix: Ayton only scored 10 points with 3-of-13 shootout, but had 13 rebounds with a loss of 103-97.

December 15, 2024 in Phoenix: Did not play with a loss of 116-109.

Then came on Saturday, when Ayton gave his current game section, which helped the blazers with seven of their last eight, another dominant performance.

In his four performances – he missed three games with a knee injury – Ayton scored an average of 22.3 points and 11 rebounds, while he shot 71.9% from the field. It was visibly more active, loud, intensive, more committed and competitive.

His achievements against Miami (22 points, 15 rebounds) and Milwaukee (21 and 14) were the first time that he scored 20 or more points in back-to-back games this season.

This is probably his most impressive four-game route with the blazers in view of the profit.

At the end of last season, Ayton put together an impressive 15-game run with an average of 23.2 points and 12.4 rebounds per game. But these nights came when the team with many other important players of the team was on the injured list in full tank mode.

The team went 4-11 in these games.

Ayton’s current run helps to fuel the victories because the squad is almost very healthy and how only a few get together.

Teammate Scoot Henderson called Ayton one of the best strikers/centers in the NBA.

“I don’t even like to call him five because he doesn’t even move like many fives in the league,” said Henderson. “It is so fast and climbs on the floor and is so much more skillful than many people in his position.”

Blazers trainer Chauncey Billups recently pointed out that the center has increased its game in many areas, especially in defense, and has become a better vocal guide.

“He was really concentrated and locked up,” said Billups.

Will that continue? Henderson hopes.

“When it was locked up, we were a completely different team,” he said. “And there I come in and try to help him achieve this level.”

When Ayton is locked up and committed, Henerson added, the rest of the team feeds on his energy.

“If there plays like this, it is easy for everyone else,” said Henderson. “It is easy for us to come from the screens and make a piece. And then somehow the ball ends up in his hands and it starts to cook. “

Ayton attributes the growth and energy of the young players to improve the team. When asked if they inspired him to play better, Ayton replied: “I was here. I just waited for these boys to catch up. “

This indicates that Ayton will also be at stake at his game as long as the team is fully committed, concentrated and played correctly.

“I just think I’m this type,” he said. “I am a guy who has a lot of energy and I want the best for people. So if you are on the pitch with me, I know how to do you better. “
