BBB warns of fake toll bills.

Birmingham, ala. (WBRC) – Many people are currently receiving a fake toll calculation reports.

Experts warn you to be careful because it is another fraud of a criminal who tries to steal your money and personal data.

The text says that your vehicle has unpaid toll bill and to avoid excessive late fees, you must now regulate them.

The President of the better Business Bureau (BBB), Carl Bates, says he got one of the texts this week.

While fraud is not new, he believes that he has been gaining weight since the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has just started to accept tax returns this week. Bates says that if criminals can now receive their personal data, you can try to get your tax refund from the government.

Since many toll roads and bridges now have cameras and can calculate them with their license plate, the fraud can appear credible, but as with any text in which you click on a link, you must first think.

“The reality is not you can insert personal information, especially a credit card so that you can then have the credit card number for other uses on the street,” said Bates.

As a reminder, says Bates, if you do not recognize the number you call or a SMS -SMS -SMS and ask for money or personal data, there is a good chance that it is a fraud.
