An unlikely duo works together in the Senate to comply with one of President Donald Trump’s campaign promise.

Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., And Josh Hawley, R-Mo.

“During the campaign, President Trump promised to reach interest rates for credit cards by ten percent,” said Sanders in an explanation. “Today I am proud to present non -partisan laws for two parties with Senator Hawley to do exactly that.”

Sander’s accused financial institutions that demand more than 25% interest for credit cards from “extortion” and “loan people”.

“We can not continue to make large banks to make enormous profits that tear down the American people. This legislation will provide working families who have difficulty paying their invoices urgently needed financial relief,” concluded his explanation.

The invoice would immediately remain effective at 10% and five years.

In his own explanation, Hawley said: “The working Americans drown in Record credit card debt, while the largest credit cards are getting richer and richer by hiking their interest rates on the moon.”

“Not only is it wrong, it is exploitative. And it has to end. The Credit interest rates at 10%, just like President Trump, is a simple way, is an easy way to offer working people a sensible relief.”

Trump spoke about the limitation of interest rates during a campaign in September, where he set his economic agenda.

After Trump was elected, Sanders promised to lead the laws for it and followed on Tuesday.

The White House was asked whether Trump was still considering this campaign and whether he supports the law of the Senators, but there were no comments on Fox News Digital for publication.
