Strong precipitation causes flood conditions along the streets of West Virginia

Flood conditions in West Virginia on Thursday ranged from disorders to life -threatening situations for drivers who are caught in flood.

Eyewitness news was on site for the dramatic rescue near the Putnam-Lincoln County line after a vehicle was swept off a road.

Savers from several fire brigades used two boats and flaps to save a woman along Route 34.

It was one of many water rescue calls from firefighters who went to several centimeters of rain as small rivers, streams, streams and low -lying streets as well as places at risk of flood.

“She could get out and get to a place where she could stand near a fence post,” said Bob Strickler, head of the Hamlin fire brigade. “We could take a lifeboat and go out and get it.”

In some cases, the trouble on arable land and flood streets was quickly mapped.

Lincoln County saw widespread floods, but it wasn’t the first rodeo for residents like Sam Carter.

“It was in our house a few times, a few centimeters here and there,” said Carter to Eyewitness News. Sometimes it gets a little interesting. “

The continued drain left high water when Creek systems slowly go back.

Several rivers will be able this evening, and the drivers have to be vigilant in the dark for the flooding of backwater, where smaller streams enter these waterways.
