The Krewe de Riviere rolls tomorrow!

Monroe, La. (Knoe) -The Krewe de Riviere -Parade rolls on Saturday, February 8th, at 5 p.m.! Around 1,500 people are moved through the streets of West Monroe and Monroe during the parade.

At any time during the parade week, the cave buzzes with activity and load pearls and toys for every swimmer.

On February 8th, the Krewe de Riviere Parade will roll through West Monroe and Monroe from 5 p.m.

This year the route is different, they continue to Louisville and end in the Oliver Road in Monroe. There they will stop throwing. The parade begins in the N 7TH Street in West Monroe.

You have light-up toys, jewelry, soft toys, moon cake, decorated rubber ducks and pearls! Over a million throws, these floating bodies will release during the parade.

Every year the Klewe builds new swimmers from scratch to expand their fleet. Of course, each is decorated for the topic “outside of this world”. You will see an aliens, men in black, the Star Wars Cantina Bar, a scene from the Jetsons and much more.

On February 8th, the Krewe de Riviere Parade will roll through West Monroe and Monroe from 5 p.m.

The Monroe Moccasins are this year’s big marshal! The team will drive with a swimmer and throw some special pearls with hockey topics.

Back is the World Famed Grambling State University Band! You will see them before the king’s swimmer.

And the Louisiana Lunachicks will lead the queen’s float.

When we look into the future of the Klewe, it’s not just about the parade.

“We bought the old Holsum bakery building a few years ago and would like to transform this front of the building into neutral soil and have music and art lessons for the children in the area after school,” says Heather Moore, Vice President of Krewe de Riviere.
