PFB Picks: Predictions for Oklahoma State’s season finale against Colorado

Another one.

Oklahoma State travels to Boulder to face Coach Prime’s Colorado in the Cowboys’ 2024 season finale at 11 a.m. Friday. While the Pokes still need their first conference win, the Buffaloes are still fighting for a spot in the Big 12 Championship in their first year in the league. This is how the PFB employees see how the Black Friday match went.

Score: Colorado 45, Oklahoma State 31

OSU MVP: Ollie Gordon

Uniform: White (Pete)-White (Orange)-Orange

Thoughts: I thought last week would be the Cowboys’ last chance to break away from the top spot in Big 12 play, and they almost did it. Unfortunately for the Pokes, they now have to play on the road against a team that is hanging on by a thread of Big 12 titles and CFP hopes. Colorado is also a team that may be trying to make a Heisman Trophy statement for Travis Hunter. I hope the OSU offense continues to look good and Maealiuaki Smith comes out on top, but I think OSU has little chance of finishing the year with a Big 12 win.

Decota Gregory

Score: Colorado 48, Oklahoma State 30

OSU MVP: Ollie Gordon

Uniform: White (Brand) – White (Orange) – Orange

Thoughts: It seems incredible that a Mike Gundy team would go winless in conference play, but the Cowboys beating this powerhouse Colorado team seems even more realistic. There is still a lot of work to be done for Coach Prime’s team, as the chance of getting to Arlington next week is slim. Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are also still in Heisman contention and will need special performances to bring in some hardware in a few weeks. And this OSU defense is the perfect way to have a day. Colorado thrives on big games, and that’s what’s killing the Cowboys. A revamped offense with Maealiuaki Smith could give OSU more points, but they just can’t keep up with Sanders, Hunter and others. But through all of this, be sure to enjoy Brennan Presley and Ollie Gordon one last time.
