What we know about the Super Bowl Halfime Show Demonstrator

The Super Bowl -half -time actor, which held the Sudanese and Palestinian flags in New Orleans on Sunday evening, is prohibited by all NFL stadiums and events for life, a spokesman for the league told CNN.

The demonstrator was confirmed by the NFL as part of the half -time show by Kendrick Lamar. The person acted with show runners without coordination, said the league.

The protest occurred late in Lamar’s set, shortly after he started his song “TV Off”.

Film material and photos show that the demonstrator was dressed in black – with the dancers nearby – with an apparently Sudanese and Palestinian flags that read “Sudan” or “Gaza”.

The demonstrator was first stood on a black car that was used as part of the stage. Video, which was recorded by CNN Affiliate WDSU, then shows the person who runs onto the field with the flag before the security personnel grabs it.

The flags were seen briefly in the background during the Super Bowl show.

The demonstrator was not publicly identified, but the NFL confirmed that the person was one of the 400-member casts that were carried out on the field.

The police of New Orleans only described the demonstrator as an adult black man and said that he was ejected from the stadium after he had been arrested. From Monday morning it seemed as if the person had no further consequences, the police stated that he was not arrested.

“No arrest and no summons were issued,” said the NOPD in a press release. “Therefore, the person is not identified.”

“The NOPD continues to work with NFL and the half -time production team to determine a belonging that the person with the half -time show may have had,” added the publication.

An NFL spokesman praised the security to “arrest” the person quickly, and said in a statement on Sunday: “The person hid the object in his possession and revealed him late on the show. Nobody who was involved in the production was aware of the intention of the individual. ”

The protest was neither planned nor occurred in one of the half-time show samples, as from a separate explanation of the ROC Nation, the Jay-Z company, which acts as an entertainment consultant at the NFL.

CNN was looking for a comment from representatives for Lamar.

The demonstration obviously dealt with the continuing conflicts that devastated the Sudan and Gaza, in which millions of people were hit by humanitarian crises.

The Council for American-Islamic relationships, the nation’s largest Muslim advocacy, referred to the demonstrator to the hero.

“This brave act of peaceful protest should serve as a memory that many Americans recognize the humanity of those who suffer abroad as a result of American foreign policy,” says Cair.

While a ceasefire came into force last month, a large part of Gaza was destroyed in the past 16 months when Israel bombed the enclave in response to Hamas’ attacks on October 7, 2023. Tens of thousands of Palestinians were killed and 1.9 million people – around 90% of the population of Gaza – were expelled, according to the United Nations.
