Danes start campaigns to buy California from us

Thousands of Danish have signed a “Denmark” petition in order to buy California from the United States as a response to President Donald Trump’s offer to buy Greenland from the USA.

The online petition has received almost 200,000 signatures from the Scandinavian country house to almost 6 million people.

“Los Angeles? Rather like Løs Ångeles,” says the petition.

“Have you ever looked at a card and thought: you know what Denmark needs? More sunshine, palm trees and roller shoes. ‘Well, we have a unique opportunity to make this dream reality,” says the campaign website. “Let’s buy California from Donald Trump!”

The petition claims that your crowdfunding goal is 1 trillion US dollar -“give or take a few billion”.

Grenland, which is based on a large US military base, is an autonomous territory from Denmark, a long -time US ally and founding member of NATO. Trump threw doubts about the legitimacy of Denmark’s right to Greenland.

Apparently there are five important incentives for Danes to sign the petition: Sunshine, Tech, Avocado -Toast, protects the free world and of course Disneyland, which creates the petition for renaming “Hans Christian Andersenland”.

“Mickey Mouse in a Viking helmet? Yes, please,” says the petition.

“Trump is not exactly the greatest fan of California. He has described it as” the most ruined state in the union “and has been managing its leaders for years. We are pretty sure that he would be ready to separate himself for the right price . “

Before he took office for his second term on January 20, Trump said that he would not rule out the use of military violence in order to take control of the Panama Canal and Greenland, since he controls both for the American national security of declared crucial importance.

Trump left the use of the American military open to secure both areas. Trump’s intention marks a rejection of decades of US policy that has prioritized self-determination from territorial expansion.

“I will not commit myself,” said Trump when I was asked if he would rule out the use of the military. “It could be that you have to do something. The Panama Canal is of crucial importance for our country.” He added: “We need Greenland for national security purposes.”

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in an interview with the Danish broadcaster TV2 called the US Denmark “most important and closest allies” and did not believe that the United States would use military or economic power to ensure control over Greenland.

Frederiksen repeated that she welcomed the United States, who were interested in a greater interest in the Arctic region, but that it “had to be done in a way that respects the Grönlanden,” she said.

“At the same time, it has to happen that Denmark and the United States are still working together, among other things, NATO,” said Frederiksen.
