Doug’s winter party viral moment | Faster lead

It all started in mid-January when a woman in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, released a Tikok video by an 87-year-old neighbor who carefully went to her veranda with a stick and rang her doorbell. As he waits for the door to answer, he carefully pulls a folded sheet of paper out of his coat bag – one of several that he has hidden properly. When she opens the door, he introduces himself as a Doug, gives her the newspaper and explains that it is an invitation to a party he has in his house (and to which he invites all of his neighbors).

In another video she shows us the handwritten invitation. At the top there is a hand -drawn snowflake, followed by the name of the party: “A celebration of the winter”. It takes place on February 15 from 4 p.m. “until the police arrive”.

Until the police arrive.

This simple, cheeky sentence of an 87-year-old put Tikkok on fire. Her followers were fascinated, closer and published the videos. The party became viral within a few days; Thousands of people made videos in response. Everyone was on board with the so -called winter party from Doug.

People posted funny videos of themselves, who stacked a massive motorhome with a cardboard sign on the front: “Doug’s or bust”. Others said they left their houses weeks in advance because they live 2,485 miles from Doug. Or model the various outfits that you supposedly wear, during the course of what you imagine.

(To be clear, Doug’s speech was not unveiled. As much as he loves the funny and warm videos and the friendliness of the strangers, he asks that people do not appear for the party. It is a private matter just for his neighbors.)

Nevertheless, companies donate food and drinks. People have made banners, T-shirts and all types of goods and donate the proceeds (more on this below).

A company called impressive Custom Banners made one that is actually impressive: it is 6 feet long and shows Doug in a white tuxedo with the words: “Doug: The man. The myth. The legend. “A woman collected almost $ 1,500 from Doug’s Winter Party T-shirts. Cardboard boxes of Gold’n Krisp-potato chips based in Massillon, Ohio, are on the way to the party. Carmazzi Caramel Mais from Sacramento, California sends boxes Different aromas of Doug’s favorite naked.

People also send cards and gifts for Doug. A good friend of his, Adam, volunteered for his business address, just above the border in New Jersey, to collect all of the stuff.

The answer is breathtaking. Just take a look at the videos that his friend posted on Tikkok, which shows the masses of cards and packages that have arrived.

Celebrities are also in love. Crooner Michael Bublé She held two bottles of whiskey (he has a whiskey company) and a tower with red solo cups and said he wanted to send something to the party. Former patriot Rob Gronkowski I posted a video of myself, the Doug with a series of seafarers (the army navy game, I assume). Even the ubiquitous Bethenny Frankel was on the plot.

The best thing is that cities and cities across the country will organize their own winter celebrations from Doug in their neighborhoods. There is even talk of making it an annual fundraiser.

For example, this woman in Colorado organizes a “satellite” party for all of her neighbors. There are parties in Vancouver and in North Carolina and Roanoke, Texas. A guy in Chicago promises to make a shot Scotch (Doug’s favorite, according to his daughter) in honor of Doug at the time.

Police officers also join; After all, they were mentioned on the invitation!

And it’s not just Americans and Canadians who are beaten. People around the world have either published their own good wishes and party plans or contacted Doug’s family – people from Ireland to Jamaica in New Zealand to Slovenia.

If everyone publishes their videos from their local winter parties, a supporter in the Philippines has offered to sew them all together in a souvenir video for Doug.

Doug’s daughter Elizabeth and her sister Victoria feel a bit overwhelmed, but grateful forever. Elizabeth posted videos that talk about her father and tried to coordinate all the offers of help.

It turned out that Doug was born and grew up in Canada and is a retired forester. He worked in Canada and California, also in Los Angeles. He loves nature, she said and fought against his share of forest fires and became an expert and consultant.

For those who want to contribute money or donate the proceeds from the T-shirts, cups and other merch who created and sold them, she suggests giving the California Fire Foundation on behalf of Doug’s winter party.

Doug lives alone and suddenly lost his wife through cancer. He traveled well and spent time in France and Mexico. He is now fluent in French and Spanish. He always organized big parties, said Elizabeth and enjoys Scotch’s occasional shot.

Although the party is only for neighbors, at least part of it is solved by two people on TikTok: One is the woman who has posted the original doorbell video and the invitation, @meeesher (note 3 after the M measurement gives). The other live stream is carried out by Doug’s friend Adam from New Jersey, who spent his work address for people to send cards, donations, whatever: @Dougwinterparty2025.

Incidentally, the end of the invitation was: “Eating and drinks were offered; Just bring a smile. “

It was signed: “Love, Doug.”

And yes, the bulls will arrive. But you won’t be there to separate Doug’s winter party. Instead, you will make sure that everything goes smoothly with a joyful event that none of us realized that we urgently needed.
