Netflix shows in the Apple TV -app unified watchlist

Update: Unfortunately, it seems that someone jumped the weapon and this rollout was canceled at that time.

Apple and Netflix have apparently managed to find a common basis and to meet a partnership for integration into the Apple TV app. Some users In the United States, it begins to connect your Netflix account to the Apple TV -App to the Apple TV 4K devices.

After that, Netflix Originals can then be added to your observation list in the TV app and appear in the further look. However, integration does not seem to be complete, so it is probably still in the introduction.

The Apple TV keeper is the flagship function of the app. On iOS and TVOS, the TV app collects all the shows that you can see via apps in a single list of upcoming content. The playback level is also synchronized so that they can be notified when a new episode falls. This means that you can keep your streaming shows in the areas of services such as Disney+, Max and more in a uniform list.

However, Netflix has never supported this function and its shows were therefore completely excluded from this integration. With today’s rollout it seems that you can finally get on board with this initiative.

For the users for whom they are displayed, you can now connect your Netflix app to Apple TV and make Netflix -Original -title such as Stranger Things and Squid Game appear in your Apple TV watchlist. However, things like playback progress do not seem to work yet.

Since the users already see this in the wild, an official announcement by Apple and Netflix for their partnership is probably imminent. (At the time of publication, the official list of Apple’s supported apps has not been updated since March 2024, and Netflix is not mentioned.)
