Hoops Central: #5/4 Tennessee against Vanderbilt

Knoxville, tenn. – The No. 5/4 Tennessee men’s basketball team will compete in a fight on Saturday afternoon in the city center of Food City. Tipoff is planned for 1 p.m.

Fans can follow the game on Saturday between the volunteers (20-5, 7-5 seconds) and Commodores (17-7, 5-6 seconds) in the Sec Network. Dave Neal (Play-by-Play) and Pat Bradley (analyst) will receive the call.

Fans can also hear live on their local popular network partner to hear them Bob Kesling and Bert Bertelkamp describes the action.

In Tennesses’s youngest excursion with No. 15/18 Kentucky in the last minute of the first half and with seven less than 14 minutes to put a three-point in the lead, it could not keep the route down in a setback of 75-64 .

The Matchup
• The 131 victories of UT against Vanderbilt are most of the enemy. Georgia (100) is the only other school in which she defeated three -digit times.
• Since the opening of Food City Center 1987-88, Tennessee has been at home against Comodres 28-9, including 15-4 in the last 19 affairs.
• UT has seven home against Vanderbilt with an average of 13.4 ppg. Last year it won 35.
• The volunteers have been in their last 15 competitions against Vanderbilt since January 9, 2018. Both defeats were one-point road backs (66-65 on 2/8/23 and 76-75 on January 18, 200).
• This is the 14th time in the last 16 -series meetings, which also come from January 9, 2018. It is the ninth time in this route, including the sixth time in a row, UT is in the top 10.
• The ranking list teams are 23-9 of all time against non-obtained Vanderbilt team, including 15-3-all three losses are of a-Siehe 2/3/01.
• Vanderbilt brought a 9-23 (4-14) campaign in 2023-24 in the second pre-season survey.
• Junior Guard Jason Edwards leads Vanderbilt with 17.4 ppg.

News & notes
• Vanderbilt is the only team that the volunteers play at home in a five-game 23-day line (February 6th to 28th).
• The Commodores are the first unbound SEC team that has visited UT since February 24, 2004 and makes an eight game series in two seasons.
• In the last eight campaigns all in the Rick Barnes Era, ut, 27-9 (.750) in the second stage of the regular season home-and-home series.
• Tennessee is 34-7 (.829) against opposition in the state Rick Barnesincluding 17-2 (.895) in the last 19 such games.

• Igor Miličić Jr. is one of only five second players in the past 15 years (2010-25), who publishes at least 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists in a game of three times in three times in a single season. The others are Auburns Johni Broome (2024-25), Tyrece Radford by Texas A & M (2023-24), Grant Williams from Tennessee (2018-19) and Ben Simmons (2015-16) from LSU.
• In addition to Alabama and Kentucky, the eight Quad 1 victories of UT are bound to the second most common in the country. Only Auburn (13) has more.
Zakai Zeigler Has 651 assists, sixth in the second history. He is five from Georgia/Kentuckys Sahvir Wheeler (656 from 2019-23) for the fifth and 13 behind Alabamas Terry Coner (664 from 1983 to 87) for fourth place.

• Tennesses 191 victories in the last eight seasons (2017-25) in Di. Only Gonzaga (231), Houston (228), Kansas (208), Duke (206), Purdue (201), Saint Mary’s (193), San Diego State (193) and Auburn (192) have more. Bind Drake (190) and Liberty (190) to round off the top 10.

Rank victories achieve
Top 25: In the past four years (2021-25), Tennesses has led the nation 26 AP Top-25 victories. Only Connecticut (25), Kansas (25), Iowa State (24) and Purdue (23) are even within three, while the closest SEC school has four behind (Alabama with 22).
Top 20: Tennessee has a second highest 22 AP-Top-20 triumph over this span, most of the most di school connected to Kansas (22) and only look back. Sour Purdue (19), Alabama (closest SEC team with 18) and Iowa State (18) are even within five of the volunteers.
Top 15: The volunteers have a SEC best 19 AP top-15 decisions in these four years, good for the second most common in the country, behind only Kansas (20). Only Alabama (closest SEC team with 16), Iowa State (15) and Kentucky (15) are even within four of UT.
Top 10: Since 2021-22, Tennessee has had nine AP-Top-10 victories, which, along with Alabama in the Sec and in the Co-Sixstel, nationwide. Only Connecticut (12), Iowa State (12), Kansas (12), Kentucky (11) and Purdue (10) have more. High-caliber company
• Tennessee and Kansas are the only two schools that have received an AP-Top 5 ranking in the last four seasons (2021-25). Only two others, Arizona and Purdue, joined a three-year series 2024-25.
• The volunteers are one of just four teams who reach AP Top Six alongside Alabama, Houston and Kansas in the last five seasons.
• UT is one of just five programs that reach the AP Top Six alongside Duke, Gonzaga, Kansas and Kentucky in at least six of the last seven seasons (2018-25). These are also the only five schools that enter the AP Top Five in this route in at least five years.
• The Vols are among the only eight teams that reach number 1 in the AP survey in at least two of the last seven seasons (2018-25) and join Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Gonzaga, Houston, Kansas and Purdue.
• In the same seven-year-old route (2018-25), UT is also one of seven teams that, along with Baylor, Connecticut, Duke, Gonzaga, Kansas and Purdue, claim a top two position in at least three seasons.

• The volunteers are 17-7 (.708) at home against AP top 20 teams in the Barnes era, including 13-2 (.867) in their last 15 such competitions (since January 30, 200).
• UT has a 14-5 (.737) brand if you organize AP top 15 squad under Barnes, including a 12-2- (.857) records in the last 14 such matters (since January 30, 200).
• Barnes led the Vols to an 8-1 (.889) -Nedger in the Food City Center against AP Top 10 teams with seven consecutive victories (since 3/2/19).
• UT is a perfect 6-0 if you organize AP-Top 5 teams in the Barnes era (all since January 24th, 2017). The six victories in a row are a second record per ESPN, which surpasses the five of Kentucky in 1978-84 and 1956-59.
• The Vols won 12 home games against AP Top-25 opponents from 30.10.21 to 28.02.24. This is a SEC record Pro CBS sports and the longest in Di, since Kansas 17 of 1/11/14 to 14.02.17 17 had. Nine of these victories were against top 15 opponents, five against the top 10 and three over top 5 teams.
• Tennessee is 19-5 (.792) in AP Top 25 home games under Barnes, including 13-5 (.722) with both teams in the top 20, 8-2 (.800) with both top 15 and in the Top 15 and 4-0 (1,000) with both in the top 10.

• Tennessee, Alabama (five), Ole Miss and Xavier-Alle in the Sec-Sind the only schools with at least four 1,300-point scorers. Only 11 other programs even have three.

Darlinstone Dubar Has 1,431 points in 136 excursions, good for 10.5 ppg in five seasons.

• The Vols have a 14-15 (.483) Record against AP top 10 opponents under Barnes, including a 12-9 (.571) brand in their last 21 such competitions (since 3/2/19) and one 9-9- 6 (.600) Tally in the last 15 (since 12/22/21).
