Austin Marathon 2025: Road closures, public transit delays awaited this weekend

The Austin Marathon is back this weekend and with him on road closures and delays in public transit.

The marathon is scheduled on Sunday, February 16, but closures and delays are expected from Friday to Sunday evening.

Road closures

What we know:

Several streets in the city center of Austin are either completely closed or partially closed for the marathon from Friday, February 14th.

Friday, February 14th setup closings

  • 9. From Brazos to the Congress: 1 east of the trail to east from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Congress from 7th to 11th: complete closure from 4 p.m. to 16. February at 7 p.m.

Public transit delays

What we know:

Capmetro says that the marathon will cause detours and disorders.

From 7 p.m. on Friday to around 6 p.m. on Sunday, several routes will be available on the way due to the road closures. Drivers can climb their bus at the stops listed here or at the Capmetro bus stops along the diversion route.

The detour in front of the marathon will take place on Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to the end of the service for the following routes:

  • Route 2 Rosewood/Cesar Chavez SB
  • Route 4 7th Street WB
  • Route 5 Woodrow/East 12. WB
  • Route 7 Duval/Dove Springs SB
  • Route 10 South 1st/Red River SB

Austin Marathon 2025

What we know:

The race officially begins at 6:55 a.m., with the wheelchair begins for the full and half marathon.

According to the schedule of the marathon, the course of the half marathon will be completed at 11 a.m. and the complete marathon course will be completed at 2 p.m.

The marathon begins on the 2nd & congress and ends at 9th & Congress. The Austin Marathon 5k starts and ends on the 2. & congress.
