ISP is seeking witnesses and video footage in the investigation of a fatal crash on US Highway 95 in Elmira | Spokane News

ELMIRA, Idaho – Idaho State Police (ISP) are seeking witnesses, camera footage and other evidence in connection with a crash on US Highway 95 that left a child dead.

According to the ISP, the fatal accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. Friday near milepost 490 in Elmira, about 16 miles from Sandpoint. The ISP is asking the public to assist in the investigation by providing camera footage, corporate surveillance footage, doorbell video or other video recordings showing traffic traveling on US 95 from milepost 505 in Boundary County (Bonners Ferry) to milepost 479 in Bonner County Drives south. The footage requested is from between 6:45 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. on Friday, November 22nd.

ISP is also encouraging drivers who were traveling on US 95 during this time and may have observed the cars involved in the crash but have not yet spoken to investigators to come forward with information.

“This investigation is critical to understanding what led to this tragic collision,” said Trooper Travis Bucher, ISP District 1. “We believe that someone may have additional information or footage that may help explain the events “To reconstruct the events that led to the crash.” Even small details that seem insignificant could provide important clues to help bring closure to the families affected by this devastating loss.”
