Chelsea’s possible path to fame in the UEFA Conference League becomes clearer on Friday when the draw for the remaining knockout rounds is carried out, and here we explain how it works and who can hit the blues.

The Enzo Maresca team sealed our progress in the last phases of the competition with six wins of six in the league. As one of the eight top clubs to make progress, we have avoided the knockout round play-offs that take place this month and instead will meet one of the winners of these relationships in the last 16.

When and where is the League round of 16 drawing?

The Knockout rounds of the Conference League will take place on Friday, February 21 at 1 p.m. in Great Britain. The event location is UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

How does the round of 16 pullers work?

The eight top clubs were paired based on their positions at the end of the league and formed four seed pairs (clubs in positions 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6 and 7). So we were paired with second -placed Vitoria.

The clubs in each set couple are then drawn into one of two positions in the 16th round against the relevant winner of the playout phase play-offs of the knockout phase.

The draw distributes the side of the bracket for all set teams, starting with teams 7/8 and with teams 1/2 (Chelsea and Vitoria).

A ball is taken from the bowl with us and Vitoria and then opened to display the team. When we are drawn first, we are placed on the silver, left side of the bracket. The other team is then pulled and placed on the green right side of the bracket. See the graphic below.

Who can play Chelsea in the League round of 16 conference?

We will play either Ghent, Real Betis, Copenhagen or Heidenheim in the 16th round. Ghent play real Betis, while Copenhagen Heidenheim meet in the two -legged ties that close on Thursday evening.

Real Betis won the first leg in Belgium 3-0, while Heidenheim defeated Copenhagen in Denmark 2-1.

How does the quarter -finals of the conference league and the semi -finals work?

As all potential opponents are known until the final, the draw on Friday, February 21, also determines the order of the games – in which team the first legs of each draw is organized and which has the return leg.

When is the UEFA Conference League of 16?

As an infant team, we will contest the away class of our 16 tie on March 6, with the reverse game on the Stamford Bridge on March 13th.
