Reddit faces widespread failures because users have difficulty accessing important functions

Reddit users worldwide have considerable disorders, whereby many do not publish any comments, update their profile pictures or load their feeds. The problem seems to be widespread and to affect the users in big cities in India – including Pune, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad – as well as in US cities such as Dallas, Denver and Los Angeles.

Despite the growing number of reports on failures, Reddit still has to give an official answer. The status side of the platform continues to list all systems as “ready for operation”, so that users are frustrated by the lack of recognition or updating the solution of the problems. Many affected users have adopted alternative platforms such as downdetectors and social media to exchange their experiences and solve their frustrations.

There was no statement from Reddit’s technical team, but users who have similar problems are encouraged to report them to accelerate a solution.

In a separate development, the previously banned R/Whitepeopletwitter -Community from Reddit was stopped. The Subreddit was closed after some members were supposedly threats against employees of the Elon Musk Department of Government Efficiency (Doge).

The ban was reportedly imposed after Musk shared a screenshot in which members of the Subreddit discussed the identities of Doge’s employees, with some users made threatening comments. Musk then claimed that some members had violated the law.

After two weeks of suspension, Reddit stopped the community at the beginning of this week, although the comment area remains closed. The moderators have implemented stricter guidelines that ban nuisance, bullying and violence. Users are now encouraged to “attack ideas, not humans”.

Reddit has emphasized his commitment to consider the platform to have a safe and civilian space for discussions, and repeated that it usually spends warnings of the ban on the municipalities. The company explained that its goal is to maintain an open forum and at the same time enforce rules against threats and harassment.
