Taylor Jenkins loves Jaylen Wells’ durability, consistency

Jaylen Wells developed as a key player for the Memphis Grizzlies this season, and coach Taylor Jenkins believes that there is a lot to like on the rookie from Washington State.

Wells is an average of 11.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists at 36.9% shoot from 3-point range in 56 games. He is second in the rookie class in Total Scoring (629 points) and one of six players in the first year to score at least 30 points in one game this season.

The 39th Pick started 51 games for Jenkins and The Grizzlies, most of the rookie this season. He was recognized on the All-Star weekend with a selection for the game on the Rising Stars and is one of the leaders to win the Rookie of the Year Award.

“As a newcomer, I give him a lot of recognition, just a lot of consistency with his approach every day,” said Jenkins. “He was commissioned with many of the toughest matchups in the night in and night. I think mistakes, he corrects it pretty quickly.”

Wells was the rookie of the Western Conference of the month in October and November. It is the only selection in the second round that has at least 10 points per game this season and started in more games than the rest of the second round.

The 20-year-old is one of two players of the team who played this season in every game for the grizzlies (Scotty Pippen Jr.). In his first year in the league, he proved to be incredibly hard and treated the hardships of a strenuous schedule well up to that time of the season.

Wells has an IronClad case that is perhaps the greatest theft of the design based on its performance and its ability to influence games in a playoff conting team. He impressed the people around him and should continue to influence the profit at a high level.

“He shoots the 3-point line from the 3-point line,” said Jenkins. “This is always encouraging for a newcomer how he leads the ground. What impressed me the most, 94 feet, in defense (and) in the way he takes care of his body at night after night shows only progress and consistency.
