Broker growth of international customer business restricted by obstacles

A survey recently limited by RAW Capital Partners shows that many British mortgage brokers consider international customers to be important growth opportunities, but face significant challenges in securing suitable lenders and the navigation of complex government guidelines.

The Independent Survey, which included 300 British mortgage brokers, showed that only 35% often work with buyers of the non-copied buyers. However, 62% are actively trying to expand their customer base overseas.

In the past five years, 60% of brokers have observed the increased demand from international customers, and 63% expect this trend to continue or grow over the next five years.

Despite this optimism, the brokers encounter obstacles in the support of non-UK residents when buying UK real estate. 66% stated that new guidelines that have been introduced since the Labor government office have increased the need for brokerage support for customers overseas, especially with regard to stamp tax reforms and regulations for rental rental.

In addition, 62% of brokers believe that there are too few lenders who are ready or able to work with non-AK customers.

Tim Parkes, CEO of RAW Capital Partners, said: “The demand for British real estate from overseeing is still high, and the brokers clearly react by actively looking for ways to expand their customer base internationally.

“In many countries around the world, we have indeed concentrated on Great Britain as economic turbulence all over the world to use the advantages of its historically strong, stable and resilient real estate market.

“The inability or reluctance of mainstream mortgage providers to give the residents of non-OK residents usually due to the additional due diligence that brokers and international buyers have left in a difficult position.

“Now that many brokers expect international buyers in the coming years, it is more important than ever that the specialist for financial sector closes this gap.”
