Haines is now transferred to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, which has specialist knowledge in the rehabilitation of spinal cords. He was equipped for a wheelchair and, according to the family, immediately tried to make a high-speed spin-move in the chair while he tested it.

Jefferson Athletics and the school football team continued to ask for prayers and support for Haines when he navigates his recovery. A verified online donation campaign describes him as “a very outgoing young man everyone loves” and finds that he has been a competitive wrestler for four years.

The district of Jefferson City Schools had 18 wrestlers who fought for individual and team titles at the GHSA tournament, which ran from Thursday, February 13th to Saturday, February 14th.
