Vatican sources say that the Pope is in a “complex” but “stable” situation when he enters his third week in the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. Its number of white blood cells is apparently “so low” that infections probably maintain control, the sources added.

The Pope is apparently in a good mood and can move, eat and go. According to the Vatican sources, his doctors advise him to stay careful. The Vatican sources say that he decided to rest on Saturday, instead of working with his secretaries.

Pope Francis was originally admitted to the hospital on February 14 due to a attack by bronchitis. Later he was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, which means that it is in his two lungs.

The 88-year-old Pope has a story of breathing problems and left part of his lungs when he was only 21 years old.

VP Vance shares a special message to the sick Pope Francis in the middle of the respiratory crisis

Catholics around the world have prayed for the Pope’s health and many gather in the hospital where he is treated.

On Friday, Vice President JD Vance spoke at the annual National Prayer Breakfast about the Pope’s health fights and said that he had prayed daily since he had heard for the first time that Pope Francis had been hospitalized.

The Vice President admitted that the Pope and the Trump administration had put down his heads, but he emphasized the importance of praying for Pope Francis and led the crowd in prayer.

“I believe that the Pope is basically a person who takes care of the herds of Christians under his leadership, and he is a man who takes care of the spiritual direction of faith,” said Vance. “Every day I and my children spoke a prayer for the Holy Father, and we pray for his health and we pray for his consolation while he deals with a pretty serious health crisis.”

“If the Holy Father can hear us, I hope that in this room there are thousands of loyal Catholics, and millions of loyal Catholics in this country who pray for him while he differentiates his special storm,” concluded the Vice President.
