GP2 leaves the game of Warriors-Hornets after scary collision with ball has originally been published in NBC Sports Bay Area

The Warriors was given a considerable blow in the third quarter of the game on Monday when Gary Payton II went into the changing room after a terrifying collision with Charlotte Hornets Guard Lamelo Ball.

Ball hit Payton, while in the third quarter he drove a little more than five minutes in front of the edge and left the Warriors on the floor and held his face in pain. Payton had to be helped with a towel on the face into the changing room, while ball received two free throws after the game.

The third quarter was a tough one for Golden State when Guard Brandin Podziemski went into the changing room after an obvious knee injury. Finally he returned to the bench a few minutes later and was later back in the game in the third game. And earlier in the game, Curry seemed to optimize his ankle, but remained in competition.

Payton was instrumental for the Warriors as a defensive stopper this season and also scored an average of 5.6 points 56.4 percent with 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

It remains to be seen whether Payton’s face and nose are okay, but the warriors try to keep their lead over the hornets without holding him.
