The extensive system threatens extreme weather in a large part of the United States

Which forecasts describe an “unusually strong” storm system for this season is intensive on Tuesday, and brings warnings of the Blizzard conditions to the levels, forest fire weather, heavy storms in the south and strong winds in the central states.

  • The most important threat consists of severe storms in the south. The system has already led to the cancellation of some carnival festivals in New Orleans.

  • In the north, the storm is expected to bring the Blizzard conditions to the central levels, including parts of Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa.

  • Potential historical conditions for the fire weather could lead to flames on Tuesday in Texas Hill Country and in South Central Texas, including Austin and San Antonio.

  • The system is expected to affect a large part of the east coast on Wednesday.

The storm damped all over the country this week. Meteorologists predict that strengthening the winds and an influx of warm, humid air from the golf will generate favorable conditions for storms in the south. On Tuesday afternoon and evening, the conditions in the region will be ripe for heavy storms. Prognostics have warned of harmful gusts, hail and possible tornados from the east of Oklahoma by Alabama.

Marc Chenard, a meteorologist of the weather forecast, said the question was not whether heavy storms will occur in the south, but how strong they will be. At least it is expected that a number of thunderstorms will develop and sweep themselves through Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama on an order of magnitude that people normally see several times a year.

There is also the possibility that the storms can also be considerably stronger and include strong tornadoes that can cause damage.

The most likely scenario is somewhere in between.

Mr. Chenard said he would expect some regions to be “pretty bad” for some in the snow -covered regions during this storm.

He warned that there could be a pretty heavy snow for a short time in Ostnebraska to Iowa and even after Minnesota. Even if only a few centimeters of snow falls during this time, the winds can whip it on zero visibility, which could be a fatal danger for everyone on the street.

Dry conditions give further concerns when the storm goes through. On Monday, when the storm crossed the southwest, his winds in New Mexico performed a large dust tower, which led to the closure of some highways.

But one of the strongest risks in this storm is the potential fire weather in all of Texas. Prognostics with the Storm Prediction Center have warned of “dangerous, potentially historical fire weather conditions” about parts of the Edwards Placen and South Texas Plains.

“Tuesday will have the most extreme fire risk in southern central texas for years,” wrote a forecast in San Antonio on Monday evening.

The Storm Prediction Center issued its risk coloring at the highest level for “extremely critical” forest fire conditions in parts of Texas, including San Antonio and Austin.

Mr. Chenard said that what made this storm unusual was the possibility that the pressure, a possibility of measuring the strength of a storm, would fall almost record readings for March. But storms like this are three -dimensional, and there are other ingredients than just low pressure that can help to affect the areas through which they go.

And in this case, said Mr. Chenard, the effects for this season could not really be so unusual. It couldn’t have a lot of cold air behind this system, he said, which means that it may not be as much snow with other storms as it can be expected. And because the storm moves so quickly, the precipitation does not stay long over a point, which it no longer flooded. Nevertheless, prognostics like Mr. Chenard do not want to infer the risks if the storm intensifies on Tuesday.

While the storm marches to the east, it will swing rain and thunderstorms through the east coast. The most likely area for heavy storms will be in the middle Atlantic.

On the west side of this strong March storm, cold air could lead to snow where rain was rained the day before – or in some cases.
