Student at Southern University dies during the fraternity ritual: reports

A student and a band member at Southern University and an A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, died during an incident outside the campus, an online declaration by the university chancellor John K. Pierre.

Caleb Wilson, a junior from New Orleans, visited the Southern University and the A&M College in Baton Rouge.

The police did not immediately answer the inquiries from USA Today on Friday, but Wilson reported reportedly this week at an off-campus brotherhood event and, according to the local media WVUE and WDSU, prompted all membership and intake activities.

“The Southern University works in full with the Baton Rouge police authority, which heads the investigation,” said Pierre in the explanation.

According to Wvue, Wilson was participated in a ritual with members of Omega PSI Phi in the North Sherwood Forest Community Park.

Referring to the police, Wvue reported that Wilson and other promises were in line as part of the initiation process when he suddenly collapsed. He was brought to a Baton Rouge Hospital, where he was declared dead at 3:15 a.m. on Friday, reported Wvue.

According to the television station WDSU, an autopsy is underway. The outlet added that Southern University and A&M College sent a letter to all brotherhoods, sisterhoods and clubs on the Southern University campus.

The organizations were instructed to stop membership of membership until further notification in order to “ensure the security and well -being of the student body, WDSU reported.

When Omega Psi Phi was reached by phone on Friday morning, it declined to comment.

“His life had broken off tragically and I can’t imagine the depth of her pain,” he wrote. “I will keep you and the entire community in my thoughts in this difficult time.”
