How the actor Ranya Rao was caught

Ranya Rao, actor and daughter of a high -ranking IPS officer, was just a step before the clearance of airport security in Bengaluru when a team from the Directorate for Revenue Intelligence (Dri) Cocked her and regained gold bars worth 12 billion rupees, which she allegedly smuggled.

The 33-year-old actor, who started her career with the Kannada film Maanikya 2014, was flown in on Monday on an Emirates flight from Dubai. It is said that two people who accompanied them carried the smuggled gold in files. They had almost released the security at Kempegowda Airport and wanted to be about a DRI team who had a certain inteller over the smuggling attempt, stopped and started a search.

“During the examination, gold bars with a weight of 14.2 kg were recorded in the person. The smuggling worth 12.56 rupees was confiscated in accordance with the provisions of the Customs Act of 1962,” says a DRI declaration.

The search then moved to her house in Bengaluru’s Lavelle Road and the investigators found more. “After intercepting, the DRI officers carried out a search in their residential areas in the Lavelle Road, Bengaluru, where she lives with her husband. The search led to the seizure of gold decorations worth 2.06 crore and the Indian currency in the amount of 2.67 Crore,” said the DRI.

“The passenger from Lady was arrested in accordance with the corresponding provisions of the customs law of 1962 and referred back to judicial custody. The overall confiscation in this case is 17.29 Crore and marks a significant blow for organized gold smuggling networks,” says the agency’s statement.

The agency found that the train of 14.2 kg “has been one of the largest gold fits” at Bengaluru Airport recently.

According to reports, Ranya Rao had often made short visits to Golände, and this brought her to the Dri radar.
