Sam Hubbard announces retirement

Hubbard, native Cincinnati, who completed the Archbishop Moeller High School, was selected by the Bengals in the third round of the NFL design in 2018. He played in 104 regular season games with a series of 88 starts in a row from 2019 to 2004. 398 duels (236 solos), 55 TFLS, 38.5 sacks, 16 pds, an INT, six FFS and five FRS were one. Its 38.5 sacks are the fourth most common among all players in the 2018 rookie class.

Hubbard was elected team captain in each of his last four seasons at the Bengals (2021-24). During this time he helped win Cincinnati to win two AFC North Division titles, to make consecutive appearances in the AFC championship game and to achieve a berth in the Super Bowl-LVI. He played in seven post -season competitions (all starts) and recorded 29 duels, four sacks, one PD, one FF and two FRS.

He was recognized as the candidate of the Bengals for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in 2021 and ’22.
