Penn State wins 2025 Big Ten Wrestling Championships

Evanston, Ill. – Penn State won the title 2025 Big Ten Wrestling Championships with a team score of 181.5 on Sunday. The Nittany Lions received their ninth big ten championship crown as a whole and in the third title in a row. Penn State won five individual titles by Luke Lilledahl (125), Tyler Kasak (157), Mitchell Mesenbrink (165), Levi Haines (174) and Carter Starocci (184).

Nebraska took second place with 137 points, followed by Iowa in Iowa with 112 points. Minnesota finished fourth with 108.5 points and Illinois rounded off the top 5 with 105.5 points.

The Starocci of Penn State was appointed Big Ten Wrestler of the Year, Minnesotas Gable Steveson was appointed the most outstanding wrestler of the championships, while teammate Max Mcenelly received the big ten Freshman of the Year. Cael Sanderson was appointed for the third time in a row and a total of ninth coach of the year Big Ten of the Year.

The newcomer in Penn State, Lilledahl, called for the Big Ten championship with £ 125 after a 4: 3 decision against Caleb Smith in Nebraska. Illinois’ Lucas Byrd earned his first championship with 133 pounds and celebrated (3:16) Drake Ayala from Iowa.
