Frauenmarsch -Madness 2025: Ranking of every Elite -Nacht teams

The games are larger, more competitive and more exciting, but Chalk remains the writing unit of choice, since the NCAA tournament in 2025 is relocated to the elite.

Uconn, TCU and UCLA Bruins drove from their stars – Paige Bueckers, Hailey van Lith or Lauren Betts. South Carolina, Duke and Texas leaned into defense. USC has somehow overcome the loss of Star Juju Watkins. And the LSU received production from an unlikely source.

This means that we are three 1 against 2 matchups and a 1 against 3 in the regional finale, which contains many of the large matchups that were announced two weeks ago when the bracket was announced.

This also makes the ranking of the last eight teams much more difficult, but we made our shot.

1. Uconn Huskies
Original seeds: No. 2 (Spokane 4)
Tournament results: 103-34 against No. 15 State Arkansas (first round); 91-57 against No. 10 South Dakota State (round of 32); 82-59 About No. 3 Oklahoma (sweet 16)

With everything that Bueckers has achieved with the huskies, it is hard to believe that she had the largest two-game route in her career and the greatest successive NCAA tournament games in the history of Uconn. In the round of 32 career height, she set 34 points against South Dakota State and then blew in the Sweet 16 against Oklahoma on Saturday. Bus dryers took over completely in the second half after the huskies had met at halftime at four o’clock. She had 29 points after the break and scored 19 points for the huskies during a route in the fourth quarter. No Uconn player had ever scored 40 points in a NCAA tournament game. Bueckers also existed in Uconn’s highest average per game for the highest average per game (19.8). The huskies won their three NCAA tournament games with an average of 42 points and easily keep the top position in the ranking in the elite.

2. Ucla Bruins
Original seeds: No. 1 (Spokane 1)
Tournament results: 84-46 against No. 16 Southern (first round); 84-67 against No. 8 Richmond (round of 32); 76-62 against No. 5 Ole Miss (Sweet 16)

Everything with UCLA begins with Lauren Betts. The Bruins spread their semi-judicial offensive with a focus on getting their 6-foot 7 junior the ball in isolated individual games. This neutralized an aggressive ole Miss defense and helped to score 31 points from the field to 15 out of 16. When she took up her 10th rash, Betts has only been the third player in the past 25 years, who was recorded 30 points in the NCAA tournament in a row with 10 references. This is an elite company: Elena Delle Donne did it in 2012 and Brittney Griner in 2013. Betts’ legacy would be cemented on the UCLA if she can reach the bruins one last step into her first four.

3. South Carolina Gamecocks
Original seeds: No. 1 (Birmingham 2)
Tournament results: 108-48 against No. 16 Tennessee Tech (first round); 64-53 against No. 9 Indiana (round of 32); 71-67 against No. 4 Maryland (Süß 16)

The irony is striking: one of the most constant programs of the past decade has again been based on his greatest inconsistent player who delivered in the largest game of the year. Milaysia Fulwiley-the second scorer of the GameCocks in the season, but also a player who three times this season was 10 minutes or less playing the best player on Friday against Maryland. Her 23 points, eight of which came in the last 2:22, were a shy high of the season, but came only a few days after Fulwiley had one of these stints with short minutes in the victory of the second round. Now Duke is coming, a retirement of the SEC/ACC challenge in December. South Carolina won this game at 11, but it was another three -point performance for Fulwiley in 15 minutes. In accordance with the script, she scored 20 points against TCU just three days later. Consistence supports the GameCocks and is the only part that is missing for Fulwiley.

4. Texas Longhorns
Original seeds: No. 1 (Birmingham 3)
Tournament results: Defeated No. 16 William & Mary 105-61 (first round); Defeated No. 8 Illinois 65-48 (round of 32); 67-59 against No. 5 Tennessee (Süß 16)

Tennessee pushed Texas, but the defense again delivered for the Longhorns and secured the fourth elite appearance of the program in the five years since Vic Schaefer in Austin. A Lady Vols team, which was third in the country in the country in the country, was held 27.6 below its average. Schaefer optimized his line -up to accommodate hectic playing style for Tennesses and it paid off. The rotation products Shay Holle and Kyla Oldacre only played 17 minutes in total, while the newcomers Bryanna Preston and Jordan Lee played over their average minutes and combined 25 points. Preston played a 27 minutes high and was the key to the press break of the Longhorns at their speed. This depth could pay off against a TCU team that has very little because the Longhorns are trying to break through for their first four since 1987.

5. TCU Horned frogs
Original seeds: No. 2 (Birmingham 3)
Tournament results: 73-51 against No. 15 FDU (first round); 85-70 against No. 7 Louisville (round of 32); 71-62 against No. 3 Notre Dame (Süß 16)

The magical season of the TCU is mainly because Hailey van Lith’s success continues in the post -season. In a game with probably three future top 5 WNBA draft picks that played in the other team, van Lith was the best player on the pitch. Her 18 points in the second half and 26 for the game helped the horns to delete a nine point deficit. The TCU dominated Notre Dame defensively, especially in the second half when the Horned frogs blocked eight shots, including five by Sedona Prince. The 62 points of the Irish were the lowest performance of the season. While this marks the first elite in TCU history, it is now the fifth for Van Lith with her third school. She is the first player in women’s or men -college basketball in at least 25 years that appear in the five regional final.

6. Lsu tiger
Original seeds: No. 3 (Spokane 1)
Tournament results: 103-48 against No. 14 San Diego State (first round); 101-71 against No. 6 Florida State (round of 32); 80-73 against No. 2 NC State (Süß 16)

Mikaylah Williams played several key games on Friday (10 points in the last 4:09) and Aneesah Morrow was often a player who plays over their regular season for the entire duration (30 points, 19 rebounds), but teams that make a deep NCAA tournament. Sa’myah Smith was this player for the LSU. Her second double double in a row (21 points, 11 rebounds) was a big boost against the NC state, especially with Flau’jae Johnson, which goes through a three-point performance. Smith, who scored her career as a goal, plays the best basketball of her career when she continues to come back from last season’s knee injury. It has become a safety blanket of the LSU when one has the Tigers’ Big Three an unproductive night like Johnson’s 1-von 8 shooting on Friday.

7. USC Trojaner
Original seeds: No. 1 (Spokane)
Tournament opener: Defeated No. 16 Unc Greensboro 71-25 (first round); Defeated No. 9 Mississippi State 96-59 (round of 32); 67-61 against No. 5 Kansas State (Süß 16)

Two years ago, Lindsay Gottlieb Juju Watkins landed as No. 1 Recruit of the country. Last year she brought in the best rated class. Watkins has changed the program. After her star had suffered a torn ACL in the 32nd round, it was time to rely on the group of new students. This is exactly what the Trojans did to achieve their second elite in a row. Kennedy Smith provided the most important performance of her career with 19 points and an outstanding defense. Classmate Avery Howell made 4-of-8-3 hands and scored 18 points. The USC not only overcome the loss of Watkins, the newcomer also helped pick up Kiki Irafen Kiki Ireaven, which only made 3 out of 13 shots with 7 points (it is an average of 18.6 ppg).

Next: Uconn (Monday, 9 p.m. ESPN)

8. Duke Blue Devils
Original seeds: No. 2 (Birmingham 2)
Tournament results: 80-57 against No. 15 Lehigh (first round); 59-53 against No. 10 Oregon 59-53 (round of 32); 47-38 against No. 3 North Carolina (Süß 16)

The Blue Devils gave up the first 11 points of the game on Friday in the first four minutes and then gave up 27 points in the next 36 minutes. It was another incredible performance of a team whose success is based on his defense. So Duke has reached his first regional final since 2013. The three opponents of the Blue Devils in the tournament achieved an average of 38.7 points per game and shot 29.8% from the field. Only Uconn in 2010 and the 2022 team of South Carolina allowed fewer points through three games. Both teams won the national championship. Duke has forced 62 sales and approved nine 3 points in the NCAA tournament, but the crime could be as worrying as the defense is devastating. Dukes 47 points in the victory against North Carolina achieved very few in a NCAA tournament victory, and the Blue Devils are about to a team in South Carolina, which enables the country’s third-note points per 100 possessions.
