Nevada vs. UNLV prediction, betting odds and how to watch

After losses to Syracuse and Boise State, it looked like UNLV wouldn’t even reach the Mountain West Championship this season.

But with a loss at Colorado State last week, the Rebels are not only one win away from another conference title game appearance, they also still have a chance to make the College Football Playoff if things go their way.

But first they have to take care of business this week to secure a spot in the league title game. During UNLV’s regular season finale, the Rebels host Nevada – and it may not be an easy game.

Nevada vs UNLV betting odds

Nevada is a college football betting underdog of +17.5 against UNLV, with the over/under ratio at 55.5.

The moneyline for Nevada is +600, while for UNLV it is -900.

Nevada vs UNLV Prediction

I expect UNLV to win, but Nevada will cover the spread at +17.5. I also expect the game to score less than 55.5 total points.

Yes, I know Nevada hasn’t won a single Mountain West game. But I also know that the Wolfpack were competitive in almost every game in Jeff Choate’s first season as head coach. Their losses to SMU, Georgia Southern, San Jose State, Fresno State, Boise State and Air Force were decided by seven points or less.

So I expect this to be another close contest. UNLV has won three straight games since losing to Boise State about a month ago, but only one of those (a 41-20 win over San Diego State) wasn’t a close game.

UNLV is a great team and I expect the Rebels to find a way to win at home. But I think Nevada will continue to be tough defensively.
