UTSA vs. Army prediction, betting odds and how to watch

Army was undefeated until about a week ago and well on its way to contending for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

The Black Knights entered the game 9-0 against Notre Dame, and a win there might have cemented their place in the CFP. Instead, the Fighting Irish won 49-14 and Army was eliminated from the CFP Selection Committee’s rankings.

However, the Black Knights still have a lot to play for. They face UTSA this week and have a chance to remain undefeated in AAC play before the conference championship against Tulane.

UTSA vs Army Prediction

I expect Army to win and cover the spread at -6.5. I also expect the game to achieve an overall score of under 54.5.

Just because Army lost in a blowout to Notre Dame doesn’t mean the Black Knights are a bad team. During their nine-game winning streak, none of those contests were decided by fewer than 10 points. They won without any major problems.

That’s why I don’t think this game will be decided by a single possession. UTSA is proving to be a solid team. The Roadrunners have won four of their last five games to secure bowl eligibility. However, I think their offense will have difficulty scoring against an Army defense that has only allowed one team other than Notre Dame to score more than 14 points all season.

Army’s offense hasn’t been great over the last month, as the Black Knights haven’t scored more than 20 points in their last three games. But I still expect them to dominate at the line of scrimmage and control this matchup from the start.
