Several opportunities for thunderstorms this week

The pattern sees this week with daily rain and storm chances that start overnight on Tuesday evening. This week we will have a number of storms with a lot of instability in the atmosphere with which we can produce strong to heavy storms.

Wednesday morning

Up to the golf ball size, wind gusts of 60+ miles per hour will be possible in some storms overnight on Tuesday (after 3 a.m.) until Wednesday morning. At this point, the majority of North Texas in a level 2/slight risk of reflecting this potential. Prepare for some slowdowns with this thunderstorm chance early Wednesday morning.

Overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday morning Timing:

Wednesday evening and Thursday morning Risk:

The concerns remain the same. Up to the size of the golf ball, wind gusts will be possible in some storms. The Tornado threat on both days is very low, but not zero. We will monitor that exactly. After the end of the morning storms, a large part of Wednesday afternoon seems to be pretty quiet. The only exception will be on Wednesday afternoon east of the Metropex Where a few storms could intensify into serious storms.

On Wednesday evening and overnight, the next thunderstorm was able to build back into the area. This can even stay until Thursday morning.

Friday risk:

While the showers and storms could linger up and from Friday, the higher threat to storm will take place in the morning. The main threats are great hail and harmful wind. We should work on the atmosphere by Friday afternoon and evening that the severe threat is considerably lower.

The risk on Saturday:

Rain and storms will continue on Friday evening until noon on Saturday. The threat to storm will be low during this time, but we cannot rule out insulated heavy storms that could produce hail and gusts at 60 miles per hour. The greater effects will be the flooding potential.

We’re not done there

Several rain rounds could very well bring a flood concern, since DFW and the surrounding areas could absorb over 2-3 inch rain. Storms are probably likely to be on Saturday in the early afternoon, but the severe threat will be lower. We look dry until the end of the weekend.
